Field of study Business Informatics

The Computer Science major offers you the option to specialize further in the field of general computer science.

The organizational interlocking in the joint degree course allows you to switch easily between the two fields in the first year of study - ideal if you are not quite sure which direction suits you best.

The modules in Business Information Systems are divided into three compulsory blocks: Advanced Foundations of Business Information Systems, Advanced Mathematical Foundations and Economics, as well as two compulsory elective blocks (Advanced Foundations of Business Information Systems, Economics).

The compulsory blocks Extended Foundations of Business Informatics and Economics comprise the following modules:

• Information Systems 2: Technologies and Applications
• Human-machine interaction
• Integrated application systems
• Fundamentals of economics (introduction to business administration, general economics)
• Production economics
• Microeconomics

In addition, we offer our students the opportunity to acquire industry-recognized certificates in software development and enterprise resource planning (SAP) during their studies.

Graduates of computer science courses are offered employment opportunities in public and private research institutions as well as project managers in software development. They assume responsibility for the development, procurement and adaptation of hardware and software to solve specific problems or analyze, design and develop new processes, algorithms and information systems for trade and industry. Consulting activities for companies and the education and training of users are also possible areas of employment.
