Many industrial, technical and economic challenges today can only be met internationally and through the interaction of natural and economic sciences. Business Chemistry therefore combines chemistry with business administration. It combines both subjects for management positions in the chemical, pharmaceutical or food industry, in plastics or metal processing, in automotive and mechanical engineering or in recycling. Business Chemistry at Clausthal University of Technology teaches a wide range of skills, from synthesis and analysis on large-scale equipment to business management, marketing and English for an international career.
Job profile and labor market
Business chemistry is a flourishing science. Many opportunities are open to our graduates. In Lower Saxony alone, the chemical industry is the fourth largest industrial sector with around 24,000 employees. Graduates find employment in quality, science and product management, in research and development, in marketing, sales and production or in strategy consulting. With the Bachelor of Science in Business Chemistry, which is recognized throughout Europe, you have the ideal conditions for a subsequent Master's degree in Business Chemistry at Clausthal University of Technology (from WS 2024/2025), a Master's degree in Chemistry at Clausthal University of Technology with the two directions "Applied Chemistry" and "Polymer Chemistry", or in Technical Business Administration with the diverse fields of study "Manufacturing", "Energy Management", "Sustainability and Circular Economy" or "Digital Management".
